L’Escapadou have developed three apps to date. Word Wizard, Montessori Crosswords and their latest app, Montessori Numbers. All three exhibit the Montessori principles of self expression and exploration. They are apps that allow for the natural desire of children to explore letters and numbers to be enhanced. Word Wizard is still one of my favorite apps to support early childhood literacy.

At GeekDad we are big fans of apps that actually use mobile devices in innovative ways to support children’s learning. Motion Math Games are one of those developers who have led the way in thinking about how they can design digital learning environments that provide ways for children to learn math with their hands and minds. Their first fraction/decimals app called Motion Math has become one of the benchmarks against which others should be comparing themselves.

No matter who you?ll be voting for this November, I think we can agree on one thing: Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney did, in fact, tie his dog to the roof of his car in 1983. He said the dog liked it. Gerald Casale, founding member of the band DEVO, would have to disagree.

SUPER WHY! ABC Adventures: Alphabet is the new game from PBS Kids available for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. It teaches kids the alphabet through a series of mini activities that promote letter recognition and pronunciation amongst other skills.
