Supporters of President Obama should mail some straw to the White House. That way, if Obama wants to grasp at straws, he’ll have something to use other than last Friday’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Employment Situation report. This report, which Obama bragged about as representing “steady progress”, was actually terrible.

Circumstantial evidence points to the high-pressure injection of wastewater into deep disposal wells as a potential trigger for small earthquakes. Case in point is a recent 4.0 magnitude temblor that rattled windows across hundreds of square miles around Youngstown, Ohio. The epicenter was located suspiciously close to a disposal well owned by a wildcat operator named D&L Energy. A series of these unusual seismic events prompted state authorities to suspend wastewater injection pending a more thorough investigation.

Hyperbole Alert! Washington’s latest legislation - the one extending the payroll tax cut - may be the worst piece of legislation ever passed.
I told you to get ready for hyperbole.
It clearly isn’t the most damaging piece of legislation ever passed. There are many others that were worse. But, this one little piece of legislation is the epitome of political nonsense.
It’s not that Democrats and Republicans can’t work together. It’s because they are working together. Getting something done is a religion in DC. The House passed this bill by unanimous consent. Not one (1)…
