topchef tbiBravo TV characters from shows like The Real Housewives and Top Chef are now offering suggestions for stores, restaurants and bars on mobile-social application Foursquare.

The new partnership integrates information from NBC Universal’s iPhone app “Guides By Bravo,” which launched its 1.1 version this summer. Users can find curated lists to find out where their favorite Top Chef eats and where designer Rachel Zoe of The Rachel Zoe Project shops for couture finds.

Starting Monday, Bravo will begin offering Foursquare players badges and special prizes when viewers visit more than 500 Bravo locations, according to the New York Times.

Looks like Amazon is throwing in the towel on its fight against Macmillan.

In a statement on the Kindle Community website, Amazon says it must “capitulate” to Macmillan’s demand to charge $12-$15 for an  eBook version of a new hardcover, or bestseller.

John Sargent Macmillan

John Sargent, CEO of publisher Macmillan, has taken out a full-page ad to explain why he is insisting that Amazon raise prices on its ebooks to $15 in some cases.

Macmillan CEO John Sargent took out a full page ad in Publishers Lunch to explain his side of what’s happening in the battle with Amazon.

Unless Amazon is willing to raise the price of new hardcovers on the Kindle to $15 from $10, it will not receive new books when they hit the market. Amazon faces “extensive and deep windowing of titles” if stays with its current terms.
